The jury has highlighted "the daring, modern design, highly appropriate for its contents, which exhibits this work of great documentary soundness on an innovative subject." Antonio de Guevara y Europa (Publications of the University of Salamanca). Prize for the best monograph in the fields of humanities and social sciences. According to the panel of judges, "it is a thorough work on this Spanish author from the Renaissance period, whose work had an enormous impact on both Spanish and European thought.". Captura y almacenamiento de CO2. Criterios y metodología para evaluar la idoneidad de una estructura geológica como almacén de CO2 (University of Huelva). Prize for the best monograph in the fields of experimental sciences and technologies. The judges have considered it "an interesting contribution to environmental studies." "In view of economic development and the continued use of fossil fuels, with the consequent accumulation of CO2, concern regarding climate change is growing. This book broaches a very current topic and shows a route through the different technological models which would help to reduce CO2 emissions", it adds. Tuberculosis. Historia de su conocimiento (University of Oviedo). Prize for the best monograph in the fields of health science. In the judge's opinion this topic "needed a historical review, carried out, in this case, by a specialist of confirmed experience. Diálogo de doctrina cristiana (Biblioteca of Christian Authors and the National Distance Learning University). Prize for the best co-publication with a private publishing house. The judges have selected this work which "represents the recovery of a great text, a key work in Spanish dialogue and a classic in the study of Christianism in Europe." "The soundness of the authors' training in history, philosophy and theology guarantees a rigorous and detailed critique," it adds. Historia de las plantas en el mundo antiguo (University of Deusto and Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas). Prize for the best joint publication between universities, which "represents a magnificent example of collaboration between a university and a research centre which, through image and text with an attractive presentation and much attention to detail, disseminates among the wider public the use of plants in the Ancient World and their impact on the literature of the time," the jury indicates. El Cantar de los Cantares en el humanismo español (University of Huelva). Prize for the best translation "for being a work that has involved a great effort in translation from medieval Hebrew, particularly in the processing of the sources which have influenced the Cantar de los Cantares, and their correct integration in the monographic study." The judges have declared the prize for the best digital and multimedia publication void and has stated "its concern at the lack of publications offering materials that use the various resources ICTs offer us in a more creative way," as is reported in the minutes of the meeting. www.une.es prensa@une.es 91 381 61 31; 654 99 18 62
