The purpose of the CIS is the scientific study of Spanish society, which it accomplishes primarily through studies that capture the opinions and attitudes of the population. To accomplish this task, the CIS, through this platform and following a general strategy of transparency and modernization, makes available to the general public all the studies, both quantitative and qualitative, it has conducted since its creation in 1963.

Some of the surveys conducted by the Institution are considered state statistics and are therefore included in the National Statistical Plan.

With the aim of enabling simple and efficient access to data, this space provides access to both the Advance Survey Results, i.e., provisional information published immediately after the completion of fieldwork, as well as to its entire Catalog of Studies, where the data are located once the technical development process is completed and the tasks of quality control, validation, anonymization, cataloging, and computer upload of the data into its database have been carried out.
