Miguel Beltrán Villalva recibe el Premio Nacional de Sociología y Ciencia Política 2020, galardón otorgado por el Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas El Catedrático de Sociología de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid ha centrado sus estudios en problemas relacionados con la sociología del conocimiento y de la ciencia, y el estudio sociológico de la Administración Pública Madrid, 3 de noviembre de 2020. El Catedrático de Sociología de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Miguel Beltrán, ha recibido el Premio Nacional de Sociología y Ciencia Política 2020 después de una trayectoria profesional de más de 40 años. Beltrán ha centrado parte de sus estudios en problemas relacionados con la sociología del conocimiento y de la ciencia. En la investigación empírica ha trabajado sobre distintos aspectos de las Administraciones públicas, así como sobre algunas dimensiones que tienen que ver con la desigualdad y la estructura social. Ha sido director del Departamento de Sociología y Vicedecano de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales en la Universidad Autónomas de Madrid. Miguel Beltrán fue Premio Extraordinario en la Licenciatura y en el Doctorado, y Master of Arts en Sociología por la Universidad de Yale. También ha sido profesor contratado en las Universidades de Florencia y Catania, profesor asociado de la London School of Economics and Political Science, investigador invitado en el Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris y profesor visitante en distintas Universidades como la de Alemania, México, Colombia, Perú, Brasil y Chile. Actualmente es miembro del Consejo Editorial de la Revista Española de Sociología. Ha formado parte de los Consejos de Redacción de la Revista Española de Investigaciones Sociológicas y de la Revista Internacional de Sociología. Miguel Beltrán también ha sido Técnico de la Administración Civil, en 1974 fue Secretario General del Instituto de la Opinión Pública (antecedente del CIS) y en 1981, Secretario General Técnico de Presidencia del Gobierno. Como reconocimiento público a su contribución académica ha recibido la Gran Cruz de la Orden Civil de Alfonso X el Sabio en 2003. Es autor de libros como: La élite burocrática española (1977), Ideologías y gasto público en España,1814-1860 (1977), Ciencia y sociología (1979), Los funcionarios ante la reforma de la Administración (1985), La productividad de la Administración española: un análisis comparativo (1991), La realidad social (1991), Sociedad y lenguaje. Una lectura sociológica de Saussure y Chomsky (1991), La acción pública en el régimen democrático (2000), Perspectivas sociales y conocimiento (2000), La estructura social (2004), y Burguesía y liberalismo en la España del siglo XIX: sociología de una dominación de clase (2010). El jurado de este premio ha estado formado por el presidente del CIS, el Catedrático de Sociología José Félix Tezanos, por el Catedrático de Sociología de la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Alfonso de Esteban Alonso, la Decana de la Facultad de Ciencia Política y Sociología de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y Catedrática de Ciencia Política, Esther del Campo García, la Catedrática de Ciencia Política de la Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia y Directora General de Universidades y Enseñanzas Artísticas Superiores de la Comunidad de Madrid, Irene Delgado Sotillos, la Catedrática de Sociología de la Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia, María Rosario H. Miguel Beltrán receives the National Prize for Sociology and Political Science 2020 The Professor of Sociology at the Autonomous University of Madrid has focused his studies on problems related to the sociology of knowledge and science, and the sociological study of Public Administration Madrid, November 3, 2020 . The Professor of Sociology at the Autonomous University of Madrid, Miguel Beltrán, has received the 2020 National Prize for Sociology and Political Science after a professional career of more than 40 years. Beltrán has focused part of his studies on problems related to the sociology of knowledge and science. In empirical research he has worked on different aspects of public administrations , as well as on some dimensions that have to do with inequality and social structure. He has been director of the Department of Sociology and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences at the Autonomous University of Madrid. Miguel Beltrán was an Extraordinary Prize winner in his Bachelor's and Doctorate degrees , and a Master of Arts in Sociology from Yale University. He has also been a contract professor at the Universities of Florence and Catania, associate professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science, visiting researcher at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and visiting professor at different Universities such as Germany, Mexico, Colombia , Peru, Brazil and Chile. He is currently a member of the Editorial Board of the Spanish Journal of Sociology . He has been part of the Editorial Boards of the Spanish Journal of Sociological Research and the International Journal of Sociology. Miguel Beltrán has also been a Civil Administration Technician, in 1974 he was General Secretary of the Institute of Public Opinion (predecessor of the CIS) and in 1981, Technical General Secretary of the Presidency of the Government . As public recognition of his academic contribution, he received the Grand Cross of the Civil Order of Alfonso X the Wise in 2003 . He is the author of books such as: The Spanish bureaucratic elite (1977), Ideologies and public spending in Spain , 1814-1860 (1977), Science and sociology (1979), Officials before the reform of the Administration (1985), The productivity of Spanish Administration: a comparative analysis (1991), Social reality (1991), Society and language. A sociological reading of Saussure and Chomsky (1991), Public action in the democratic regime (2000), Social perspectives and knowledge (2000), The social structure (2004), and Bourgeoisie and liberalism in 19th century Spain: sociology of a class domination (2010). The jury for this award was made up of the president of the CIS, the Professor of Sociology José Félix Tezanos, the Professor of Sociology at the Rey Juan Carlos University, Alfonso de Esteban Alonso, the Dean of the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology of the Complutense University of Madrid and Professor of Political Science, Esther del Campo García, the Professor of Political Science of the National University of Distance Education and General Director of Universities and Higher Artistic Education of the Community of Madrid, Irene Delgado Sotillos, the Professor of Sociology at the National University of Distance Education, María Rosario H.
