The Consumer Confidence Index reaches 89 points and is above pre-pandemic levels The CCI for the month of May rises to 89 points, which represents 11.2 points more than the previous month's figure and 36.1 points more than a year ago. This is the best figure since May 2020, the date on which the index stood at 52.9 points. Madrid, June 4, 2021 . Consumer confidence rises in the month of May according to the monthly report from the Center for Sociological Research. The CCI reaches 89 points, an improvement compared to the 77.8 in April. This increase is due to the increase of 14.3 points in the assessment of the current situation, and to the rise in expectations, which also increased by 8.1 points. (Figure 1.1). The Expectations Index for this month of May is 115.5 points, which represents an increase of 8.1 points compared to the previous month . This improvement is due to the evolution of its three components: the assessment of the evolution of the economy in the immediate future rises to 115.9 points, the assessment of the future of the labor market rises in the month of May to 118.4 , and the future evolution of the household situation is valued 1.7 points higher than the last month, obtaining 112.2 points. It should also be noted that the CCI for May 2021 (89 points) provides the best data since May 2020 , the date on which the index stood at 52.9 points. Madrid, May 26, 2021 . The Center for Sociological Research has launched the Permanent Observatory on Social Exclusion and Inequality (OPED) and the Observatory on Trends in the Functioning of the Autonomous State (OTEA) . Both observatories will be made up of multidisciplinary experts of recognized prestige in their areas of knowledge. The objective of these two observatories is to analyze the existing trends in public opinion on certain aspects of the Spanish sociological reality, such as social exclusion and inequality, as well as the functioning and evolution of the Autonomous State. Based on the work and proposals of these Observatories, the CIS will carry out periodic monographic surveys to collect data that can be analyzed, giving rise to eventual publications and reports based on historical data series. With these Observatories, the demands made by the scientific community in these areas are met, thus bringing together the CIS two groups of multidisciplinary experts, of a plural nature, who will carry out rigorous diagnoses on the existing challenges in two areas as relevant as the territorial and the inequality.

This increase is due to the increase of 4.7 points in the assessment of the current situation, and the rise in expectations, which also increases by 4.7 points. The Expectations Index for the month of April is 107.4 points, which represents an increase of 4.7 points compared to the previous month. This improvement is due to the evolution of its three components: the assessment of the evolution of the economy in the immediate future rises to 103.6 points, the assessment of the future of the labor market rises in the month of April to 108.1 , and the future evolution of the household situation is valued -0.5 points below the last month, obtaining 110.5 points.
