27 professors and experts in demoscopy and sociological methodologies are part of the commission that will work to assess the current challenges of polls and electoral projections Madrid, February 15, 2019 . The Center for Sociological Research has brought together a commission of experts this Thursday to assess the current challenges and problems of polls and electoral projections, and promote, where appropriate, new models and approaches to estimate electoral behavior. This commission is made up of 27 professors and experts in the field, proposed by the National College of Doctors and Graduates in Political Sciences and Sociology, by the Spanish Federation of Sociology (FES), by the Spanish Association of Political Science and Administration ( AECPA), by the faculties of Political Science and Sociology of the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and the National University of Distance Education (UNED), by companies in the sector and by Institutions, such as the Basque Government and the Center for Opinion Studies (CEO) of Catalonia.

María Ángeles Durán, first woman to receive the National Prize for Sociology and Political Science The delivery ceremony will be on January 29 at 12:00 p.m. at the National Prado Museum Madrid, January 25, 2019. On Tuesday, January 29, at 12:00 p.m., at the National Prado Museum, His Majesty the King will present the 2018 National Prize for Sociology and Political Science to the Professor of Sociology, María Ángeles Durán Heras. , in recognition of his career of professional and academic excellence.   The event will be attended by the Vice President of the Government and Minister of the Presidency, Carmen Calvo, and the President of the CIS, José Félix Tezanos Tortajada, among other personalities from the political and academic world. María Ángeles Durán has a PhD in Political Science, a degree in Political and Economic Sciences. She has been Professor of Sociology at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Zaragoza and head of the Chair at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the Autonomous University of Madrid. Research Professor at the CSIC. He has directed the Department of Socioeconomic Analysis and belonged to the Departments of Economy and Population. In 2002 he received the Pascual Madoz National Research Award in Social, Economic and Legal Sciences. She is also an Honoris Causa Doctor from the Universities of Valencia, the Autonomous University of Madrid and Granada. She has been President of the Spanish Federation of Sociology (FES), member of the Executive Committee of the International Sociological Association, founder and director of the Institute of Women's Studies of the Autonomous University of Madrid and of the UNESCO Chair “Equality Policies”. He has carried out research stays at the Institute for Social Research (University of Michigan), College of Spain in Paris, European Institute of Florence, University of Washington (Seattle), University of Cambridge, Pontificia Universidade Católica (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She has collaborated with UNESCO, World Health Organization, ILO, Economic Commission for Latin America, United Nations Development Programme, UNFPA and UN Women. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Autonomous University of Madrid, Club of Rome (Spanish chapter), Commission of Experts of the Health Plan of the Valencian Community, Academy of Sciences of Malaga (corresponding), Fundación General CSIC (advisory commission on aging ), Advisory Committee of the Sociological Research Center and Advisory Committee of the Ibero-American Union of Municipalities. The winner has been recognized for her extensive research and teaching career, and for her role in sociology in Spain and internationally. His intellectual production has left its mark on the sociology of work, family, health, and urban planning and has contributed to the development of studies on the relationship between men and women. In addition, she is the only Spanish sociologist who has achieved the prestigious Pascual Madoz National Research Award. The CIS barometer for November presents data on vote estimation The PSOE would be the party with the most votes with 31.2% in terms of “the estimate of vote by sympathy” The PP, with 19.1%, and Ciudadanos, with 18.2%, remain statistically tied The increase in possible abstention and political uncertainty points to a foreseeable drop in participation Madrid, December 5, 2018 . The barometer for the month of November from the Center for Sociological Research (CIS) has collected, among other issues, the estimate of vote plus sympathy in percentage of vote for candidates. The four parties that would lead the survey are the PSOE with 31.2%, the PP with an estimate of 19.1%, statistically tied with Ciudadanos with an estimate of 18.2% and Unidos Podemos which would have 11.9 %. In Comú Podem it would add 2.8%, Compromís-Vamos-EUPV 2.4% and En Marea 0.9%. For its part, ERC would have 4.8%, PDeCAT with 0.8%, EH Bildu would have 1%, EAJ-PNV 0.7% and CC-PNC 0.3%. As for the parties without parliamentary representation, PACMA would gather 2.1%, VOX 2.5% and the rest of the parties would add 1.4%. Regarding the direct vote in the survey , to the question: "Assuming that general elections were held tomorrow, that is, to the Spanish Parliament, which party would you vote for?" 19.4% of the people surveyed assured that they would vote for the PSOE , 11.5% to the PP, 11.4% to Ciudadanos and 7.2% to Unidos Podemos. Thus, En Comú Podem would have 1.8%, Compromís-Vamos-EUPV with 1.4%, En Marea with 0.6%, ERC with 3.2%, PDeCAT with 0.5%, EH Bildu with 0.7%, EAJ-PNV with 0.4% and CC-PNC would have 0.2%. Regarding the parties without parliamentary representation, PACMA would gather 1.4%, and VOX 1.7%. The rest of the parties would add 0.8%. The blank vote would represent 4%, the null vote 0.8%, abstention (would not vote) 11.4%, 18.6% have chosen the “don't know” option and 2.9% that of “does not answer”. It must be taken into account that this barometer was carried out between November 1 and 11 , before the electoral campaign began in Andalusia.
