81.8% of Spaniards prefer to buy "their own home" According to the June CIS barometer, 45% of renters do not have enough income to buy a house. 47.7% believe that the price of rent is rising in the area in which they live. Madrid, July 3, 2019 . The Sociological Research Center's barometer for the month of June reveals that 81.8% of Spaniards would prefer to buy "their own home" compared to 12.9% who choose to rent. According to this survey, 45% of those who rent do not have enough income to buy a house . 13.8% of tenants have opted for leasing "because they do not want to get a mortgage", while 14.9% do so as "a temporary solution until they can buy". Regarding rental prices in the area in which they live, 47.7% of Spaniards think that rental prices are rising . 20.9% think "a lot", 26.8% say "somewhat" and 27.4% say they remain stable. People who claim that the rental price has increased believe that it is mainly due to "that there are few apartments for rent" (21.9%) , they also attribute it to "speculation" with the rental price (19.4% ) and, among other reasons, because "there are more people who want to rent" (14.7%). decent housing 90% believe that the Government "has to actively protect the right of Spaniards to have decent housing." Of these, 52.8% think that the best solution is "building social housing for people with few economic resources", 49.9% with "cheap loans to buy homes", and 46.9% "encouraging housing is built at affordable prices for the middle class. Housing rehabilitation 87.4% of people believe that public administrations should adopt initiatives to help this. Of those who think that measures should be taken for rehabilitation, 52.3% believe that the best option is “providing aid to pay for part of the rehabilitation”, 43.7% “providing cheap credit”, while 27% .4% believe that “tax deductions for housing rehabilitation” should be “established.” These and other data are collected in the barometer carried out between June 1 and 11, - with a sample of 2,974 interviews - which is available to all media on the website of the Center for Sociological Research (www.cis.es ). The majority of those surveyed prefer a PSOE Government alone 65.8% consider that during the general election campaign there has been “a lot or quite a lot of aggression and insults” 40.5% think that they received little information about the issues that interest them most in the general election campaign Madrid, May 30, 2019 . According to data from the barometer for the month of May, carried out between the 1st and 11th of that month, a few days after the general elections, 40.5% of Spaniards consider that they have had “little information about the electoral programs about the matters that interest them most.” Among the parties that believe they have made more efforts to focus the campaign on the issues that interest them most, the PSOE appears in first place (33.9%), followed by Unidas Podemos (28%), in third place Ciudadanos (11, 4%) and with the PP in fourth position (7.1%).
