Salud Mental en la pandemia COVID-19: Hacia la pospandemia
Descripción
La pandemia, originada por el virus denominado COVID-19 por la OMS, supuso un cambio en múltiples aspectos sociales y relacionales que, lógicamente, tuvieron su influencia en los contenidos mentales de los sujetos individuales. No solo por el hecho de padecer o poder padecer la enfermedad, afección desconocida hasta entonces, sino también, por los factores añadidos: el confinamiento para preservar a los grupos de intercambios de riesgo, constituyó un hito diferencial de gran impacto para las personas integrantes de los grupos relacionales habituales (familia, amigos, compañeros de trabajo) influyendo en la forma de vivenciar esas nuevas circunstancias. El síntoma mental predominante fue el miedo, miedo a contagiarse, contagiar y ser contagiado era una dialéctica real, así como la presencia de las reacciones diversas ante el duelo. No había grupo que pudiera ser inmune al posible contagio, se incluían los afectados en el seno de los profesionales del sistema sanitario con el impacto asistencial, así como los contenidos éticos en la asistencia, puesto de manifiesto en los ancianos de las residencias. Se realizó un estudio poblacional de los síntomas emocionales durante la pandemia, promovido por el CIS, sus resultados más sobresalientes, son comentados en esta obra por uno de sus directores, contando, en un capítulo, con la colaboración de los dos codirectores del estudio. El llanto resultó ser el síntoma más prevalente, sobre todo en los jóvenes, la facilidad de contagio y de síntomas emocionales tenía una distribución según la clase social.
