The CCI for February stands at 71.6 points

The current situation index stands at 59.2 points in February, and the expectations index reaches 84 points.

Madrid, March 6, 2023 . Consumer confidence stands at 71.6 points in the month of February, 1.4 points less than in January according to the monthly index of the Center for Sociological Research. The CCI figure since July has gone from 55.5 points to 71.6 in February, which represents an increase of 16.1 points.

The small drop in the index in February is due to the decrease in its two components: the assessment of the current situation and the assessment of future expectations.

The assessment index of the current situation reached 59.2 points in February, with a decrease of 1 point in relation to that obtained in the month of January. This slight decrease is due to the evolution of the overall assessments of its three components: the assessment of the current economic situation grows 1.1 points compared to the month of January, standing at 47.4 points, the assessment of the situation of households practically remains the same, rising 0.1 point and reaching 64.1 points and the valuation of the labor market falls 4.1 points, reaching 66.1 points.

The Expectations Index reaches 84 points this February, with a decrease of 1.8 points compared to the month of January. This decline in the index is due to the negative evolution of its three components: the assessment of the evolution of the economy in the immediate future has a slight loss of 0.2 points, reaching 76.3 points, while expectations about the future of the labor market fall this month of February to 83.8 points, losing 1.4 points compared to the previous month and the assessment of the future situation of households also falls, reaching 91.8 points, which represents a drop of 3.8 points compared to the month of January.
