The Revista Española de Investigaciones Sociológicas (REIS) has been listed for the first time in the Scientific Information Institute (ISI) international ranking, ahead of other Spanish sociological journals in terms of impact and citations obtained, according to the latest Journal Citation Reports (JCR).
With 69 citations in 2010, corresponding to articles published in 2008 and 2009, the REIS is ranked 105 out of 129 best sociology journals, being the highest ranking Spanish-language journal.
Present in the most prestigious international citation indexes, such as the Social Science Citation Index and Scopus, the REIS continues to lead the Spanish cumulative historical impact indexes for 1994-2009 and 2000-2009, according to the IN-RECS. It is currently the only Spanish social sciences journal included in the JSTOR repository of scientific journals, and the second most downloaded on DIALNET, a repository which lists journals from all areas of study.
