Sociology of experience
Descripción
The current explosion of sociological theories not only concerns the history of ideas, but is part of a profound social transformation that leads us to abandon the classical representation of society, which conceives it as an order in which we can identify social action with the "laws" of the system. In fact, what we used to call "society" can no longer be reduced to an integrated system, a mode of production, and a nation-state. From this point on, the very object of sociology changes: it must describe "social experiences," that is, the individual behaviors of each of us. These combine various rationalities and logics and manifest themselves as the juxtaposition of community belonging, market calculations, and the demands of individual authenticity. The only unifying principle of social experience is the work on oneself that each person pursues in order to perceive themselves as the author of their own life.
