The Consumer Confidence Index rises 10.2 points compared to last month

  • The CCI for February reaches 65.9 points, which represents 10.2 points more than the previous month's figure of 55.7
  • It is the best data since March 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic

Madrid, March 5, 2021 . Consumer confidence rises in the month of February according to the monthly report from the Center for Sociological Research. The CCI reaches 65.9 points, a notable improvement compared to the 55.7 in January . This increase is due to the increase of 4.3 points in the assessment of the current situation, and to the rise in expectations, which increased by 16 points.

The Expectations Index in the month of February is 96.4 points, which represents an increase of 16 points compared to the previous month. This improvement is due to the positive evolution of its three components: the assessment of the evolution of the economy in the immediate future, which rises by 20.2 points, the assessment of the future of the labor market, which rises by 17 points and, finally, the future evolution of the situation of households, which is valued 10.8 points more than in the month of January.

The CCI for February (65.9 points) provides the best data since March 2020, the date on which the index stood at 63.3 points.

This CIS study is based on a representative sample of the Spanish population with 2,840 interviews.
