M.ª ROSARIO H. SÁNCHEZ MORALES was born in Ingolstadt Donau (Germany). She holds a PhD in Political Science and Sociology. She is a Professor of Sociology at the UNED (National University of Madrid). She is the author of around 100 publications on the social impacts of biotechnology, social exclusion, homelessness, family, youth, immigration, and more. She is a member and secretary of the research team of the Study Group on Social Trends (GETS) at the UNED (National University of Madrid). She has participated in around 30 research projects. She is a regular reviewer for Spanish and international social science journals. She has held management positions at the UNED (National University of Madrid) since 1996. She has served as secretary of the Department of Sociology III (Social Trends) and as its deputy director. She is also the coordinator of the Master's Degree in Social Problems and the Doctoral Program in Analysis of Social Problems at the UNED (National University of Madrid). She has also served as a coordinator and evaluator of scholarships within the Social Sciences scientific area for the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sport. Member of the National Commission for Assisted Human Reproduction (1997-2010), member of the Bioethics Commission of the UNED and Principal Member of the Local Forum for “Homeless People” of the Madrid City Council.
