The CIS library's main mission is to support the Centre's research activities by providing a comprehensive specialised bibliographic collection, mainly in the fields of sociology and political science.

Batches

The monographic batches currently comprises over 30,000 titles, the catalogue references of which can be accessed via the Online catalogue.

The collection of magazines and publications in series is made up of 721 titles of which 48 can be accessed in electronic format.

The library also offers other consultation materials, including access to several online and digitised databases (CD-ROM and DVD-ROM) specialised in social sciences (JSTOR, Web of Knowledge, CSIC, ERIC, Social Services Abstracts, Sociological Abstracts with ProQuest Full-Text, WorldWide Political Science Abstracts with ProQuest Full-Text) and statistical and reference data of different kinds.

Access conditions

The CIS library serves mainly users belonging to the institution itself, although it is also open to all external users, who may use all its services, except for the departmental or domiciliary publication loans services, which are reserved for CIS personnel.

Opening hours

Summer (15 June to 15 September) from Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 14:00 for the general public and from 9:00 to 14:30 for CIS personnel.

The winter timetable is in effect during the rest of the year: mornings, the same time as during the summer; afternoons: from 16:00 to 18:00, from Mondays to Thursdays.
