Consumer Confidence Index

The CCI offers an insight into consumers' spending intentions, asking them about their current perception of the country's economy and its future prospects, their family economy and employment. It is based on a monthly survey carried by telephone on a sample of 1,510 private individuals over the age of 16, representative of Spanish society as a whole.

The ultimate objective of this index, within the battery of economic indexes drawn up by Spanish institutions, is to be a useful tool for interpreting and predicting how private consumption will evolve in Spain.

NOTE: the INDICADOR DE CONFIANZA DEL CONSUMIDOR has been called the ÍNDICE DE CONFIANZA DEL CONSUMIDOR since the May study (study CIS 3214).
