The CIS fosters the undertaking of applied socio-political research through surveys, promoting the involvement of PhD holders with proven research experience in some discipline or area of the social sciences, in the choice of topic, design and analysis of a module of questions that may form part of one of the surveys that the CIS carries out within its usual schedule.
Every year since 2005, generally in the months of January or February, the CIS requests proposals for a “module of questions”. A mixed committee made up of senior members of the CIS and university lecturers selects one from among the proposals submitted. To date, five surveys have been performed under the framework of this initiative, through agreements signed with the universities or institutions to which the selected teams belong.
